Can I actually grill on it?

Yes. Drop in the included stainless grilling grate and sear over charcoal or wood. Lift it out and the Orb is a pure fire bowl for warmth and ambience.

Is it really lower smoke?

The double-wall body pulls air in through 360° vents and feeds the fire from every side, so it burns cleaner and hotter with noticeably less smoke. It's an open fire, though — we don't promise "zero smoke." Burn dry, seasoned wood or charcoal for the best result.

Will it fit a small patio or balcony?

That's exactly what it's built for. At 19.7 in wide and 24 lbs, the Orb fits tight corners and small spaces where a full-size pit won't — and it's light enough to move when you need to.

What's the lid for?

The domed stainless lid caps the Orb when you're done — keeps rain and debris out and keeps the look clean. It's included, not a separate purchase.

Will it rust or stain my patio?

The matte-black powder coat resists rust and won't bleed onto stone or pavers. Place it on stone, gravel or pavers rather than directly on a wooden deck, and use the lid when it's not in use.

What's covered by the warranty?

Two years against manufacturing defects, for the original owner, in normal residential use. Plus 180 days to return it if it's not for you — we'll take it back.

The guy who builds these things.

Not everyone has the yard for a big fire pit. I wanted something for the rest of us — small patios, balconies, the corner of a deck — that still looks like something and still actually cooks.

So I built the Orb. A sphere that turns heads, a double wall that keeps the smoke down, and a grate and lid that come in the box — not "sold separately." Light enough to move, solid enough to stay put.
